Study Of Heavy Metal Pollution Of Soils Through Magnetic Uptaking Capacity And Petro-Magnetic Express Monitoring
Description of the Proposal:
It is well known that construction of various sites, operation of ore-mining and industrial plants is connected to heavy metal wastes and pollutes the environment to certain extent. The level of pollution is traditionally studied through analysis of geochemical specimen. The method we propose is based on studying of magnetic parameters (by means of field and laboratory equipment). It is expressive and cheap, which allows for more effective and comprehensive geoecological performance.
Implementation of the Proposal:
As a result of the performed work, the heavy metal polluted sections in certain regions of Georgia will be revealed, the dynamics of pollution will be studied for certain sections and profiles. Pollution will be forecasted for the territories adjacent to some of the studied sites.
Duration of the project is 3 years (main stage).
Estimated cost:
Estimated cost of project implementation is 300 000 USD, o/w 60 000 USD is the cost of equipment.
