Geo-Ecological Assessment Of The Territory Of Georgia (Audit)

Description of the proposal:

The ecological condition of the territory of Georgia is determined through the following factors:
- Natural radiation fund, caused by existing U, Th and K nuclides.
- Anthropogenic radiation nuclides – result of Chernobil explosion.
- Radiation and geochemical pollution, associated with the period of the Soviet Re Army.
- Anthropogenic geochemical and bio-geochemical pollution, associated with local industrial sites.

Implementation of the proposal:

For the entire territory of Georgia small (1:500 000) and medium and large scale geo-ecological maps will be created, which maps will reflect the present geo-ecological condition. Also, for separate ecologically strained areas, geo-ecological passports will be created and methods will be elaborated for rehabilitation of these territories.

Estimated cost:
|
Comprehensive field and analytical works will be conducted. Their estimated cost is 300 000 USD.
