Optimization of ecosystem of GarejiSemi-Desert by development of local underground water resources
In Sagarejo region, in 70 km south-east of Tbilisi, the semi-desert hollow, know as Gareji desert located. This region has historical past. Throughout many centuries "David Gareja" was the advanced cultural-educational centre. Except numerous ecclesiastics, here lived the population occupied with the agriculture, known under the name of "Monastic peasants». In parallel to attenuation of monastic life the region devastation proceeded, that in the beginning of the last century has caused obvious disbalance of geo-ecological equilibrium of Gareji semi-desert (geological environment, vegetative cover, live organisms, people). Solving of the above mentioned problems is possible by research of alternative system of dringing and technical water supply by local resources. They should satisfy the needs of the population of region for drinking and technical water and provide deo-ecosystem of Gareji desert with sufficient of water for its rehabilitation. In the result of performance of complex geological, hydro-geological and geophysical researches, the deposit of local underground waters will be revealed, further development of which will be carried out by drilling of boreholes.
